Appointment News: Alpha Designs; Swyft; Ulster Carpets; SATRA; Texfelt; Quest Joinery

Upholstery manufacturer Alpha Designs Upholstery Limited has appointed Nichola Bell as its new Sales Director, replacing Barry Webb who has retired. Nichola moves from Westbridge Furniture where she spent 14 years at the company.

“Well, they say “out with the old and in with the new”, which is exactly what I’m doing this year. After 14 years, it’s time for a new challenge, so I’m excited to be joining Alpha Designs as Sales Director, what a year it’s going to be! Bring it on, 2023!”

Sofa-in-a-box business Swyft has announced the appointment of Elizabeth Hothi as its new Senior Buyer. Lizzie said: “I’m excited to join Swyft managing all fabric developments and influencing overall product development. I’ve been in the upholstery and fabric industry for 12 years now.”

Texfelt, manufacturers of SpringBond, Eco-friendly underlay, upholstery and mattress fillings, has appointed Danny Shortall as its new Sales Director. Danny, who joins from Headlam Group plc and previously Carpetright, will oversee and develop sales of its range of highly sustainable PU foam replacement products for the flooring industry.

Carpet manufacturer Ulster Carpets has appointed Mark Poulain as its new Head of Projects and UK Business Development. “New year, new challenge! I’m delighted to share that I’m starting a new position at Ulster Carpets. Looking forward to joining the outstanding team and supporting them on some exciting projects,” he said.

Testing house SATRA has announced that following Geoff Bindleys recent retirement, Johnny Worthington has been promoted to Head of furniture, and Phil Weal has been promoted to Head of floor coverings and flammability.

Tristine Hargreaves, Divisional Manager Furniture and Floorcoverings at SATRA, commented: “Geoff has been a key figure at SATRA. After joining SATRA in 2007 Geoff went on to become Head of furniture and floor coverings for over 10 years. We will miss Geoff dearly and wish him well for his retirement.

“Congratulations to Johnny and Phil in their new roles. They will both be in attendance at the January Furniture Show. Feel free to come and meet them at Hall 5, stand A37.”

Kitchen and wardrobe manufacturer Quest Joinery has announced that Ben Algate has been promoted to Sales and Operations Director and also sits on the board. Ben will take the lead in sales and take responsibility for the delivery of volume projects.

“The promotion is inline with our strategic plan for growth offering market leading services in the volume kitchen and furniture sector. Expanding the Quest Joinery unique offering and further enhancing the value we bring to our loyal clients. Congratulations Ben and good luck in the new role,” the company said.
