MattressTek donates vital funds to local nursery

Mattress machinery manufacturer MattressTek has made a substantial donation to Bright Futures Early Learning nursery school to ease its financial worries.

Bright Futures Early Learning nursery school faced uncertainty around funding provision of their Outstanding Ofsted-rated services due to a financial struggle, led by Covid-19 and increased costs.

In a letter of thanks, Chair of the nursery’s board Sharon Charlesworth expressed the “greatest gratitude on behalf of the Board, Staff and Children for the extremely kind donation of £50,000 to the nursery’s Charitable Trust”.

“The difference it [the generosity] has made is tremendous and will change the lives of the children, families and community we serve.”

“It [the donation] has enabled us to develop the outside play area at their Bacup site and plans are in place to create a sensory room to support the children with the highest need in our community.”

“This has given them a safe space to learn, play and combines a range of stimuli to help the children to develop and engage their senses. Through lights, colours, sounds, sensory soft play objects and aromas all used within a safe environment that allows the children to explore and interact without risk.”

MattressTek, who design, build and ship machines for the mattress making industry across the world, from their site in Rossendale, said: “It’s been humbling to help the nursery with such much-needed investment.

“The negative situation surrounding its future were just not an option for me, and others who use and need the service in the local area, so it’s great to hear about the benefit the nursery will get from the donation. I hope they can continue to support children and families who have really relied on their services already and will do in the future.

“As a proud British business, based in Lancashire, we are always keen to contribute to the investment of our roots, using local suppliers and materials, as well as serving our customers in the UK and across the globe.”
