Flooring business earmarks warehouse expansion

Flooring supplier Woodpecker Flooring has announced plans to expand with a new office and warehouse.

According to a planning application submitted to Caerphilly County Borough Council, South Wales-based Woodpecker Flooring plans to demolish the existing unit at Pantglas Industrial Estate in Caerphilly and build a new facility.

The proposals state the construction of a new 15,000sqft internal floor space, split between around 1,400sqft of offices and ancillary areas, as well as 14,000sqft of warehousing.

In a statement supporting the plans, Woodpecker said that the new warehouse will provide the needed capacity to continue expansion following consistent growth over the past 10 years that has seen increased pressure placed on its existing warehouse, resulting in the business having to rent storage at a third-party facility.

The company added that the investment would create an additional 30 jobs over the next three years, while also boosting future sales growth.
