Comfortex, manufacturers of mattresses, seating, and specialist foam products, has reported a decline in sales.
According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 June 2024, total sales fell 28.9% to £8.6m from £12.1m in 2023.
Pre-tax profit resulted at £269,000, down compared to £519,000 recorded in the previous year.
UK sales fell 32.4% £7.7m from £11.4m, while EU revenues declined to £177,000 from £286,000. Rest of the world sales increased 67% to £696,000 from £416,000.
Stated within its report, the company said: “The directors are satisfied with the balanced business portfolio and trading position of the company for the reporting period despite difficult economic conditions.
“The business operates a prudent approach to risk management which has protected our stakeholders. The directors are optimistic the company is now in a strong position to grow, given the quality of its product range.”
