Sales down to 2020 level at furniture importer

Furniture import business Coach House has reported a decline in sales as turnover dipped towards £50m.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 September 2024, total sales fell 14.7% to £49.9m from £58.5m in 2023. Revenues remained strong compared to £49.7m achieved in 2020.

Pre-tax losses resulted at £93,000, down from a profit £5.2m recorded in the previous year.

UK sales were down 13.6% to £44.1m from £51.1m, while EU sales were also down 19.2% to £4.6m from £5.7m. Outside the EU, revenues fell 31% to £1.1m from £1.6m.

Stated within its report, the company said that gross profit margin increased from 31.73% to 37.7%.
