Furniture retailer continues bespoke fleet refresh

Hardwood furniture retailer Oak Furnitureland has taken delivery of the final batch of bespoke vehicles as part of its logistics investment.

The retailer recently received 11 Renault Master 3.5t vans from a total order of 45 from Hexagon Leasing.

The bespoke Renault Master 3.5t low loader offers a payload of up to 1,610kg, and avoids the need for a tail-lift, maximising loading space, weight and reducing maintenance.

Furthermore, Oak Furnitureland’s vehicles include a specialist box body, designed in partnership Bodybuilders Bodywork Solutions and Hexagon, with bespoke dimensions that have evolved with each fleet refresh to meet retailer’s requirements.

Lesley Williams, Key Accounts Manager at Hexagon Leasing said: “These bespoke Renault Masters are part of a fleet upgrade programme that optimises both space and payload. Through fleet management analysis and consultation with Oak Furnitureland, we have added to the specification with items and features that reduce the occurrence of reactive defects.

“This is supported with an enhanced maintenance schedule to ensure technicians’ eyes are on the vehicles more regularly with the aim of maximising uptime and minimising unplanned downtime.”

Mark Baxter, National Fleet and Audit Manager at Oak Furnitureland, added: “We’ve got a fantastic, long-standing relationship with the team at Hexagon Leasing who perfectly understand our business challenges and needs. They’re always able to deliver just what we want and our most recent partnership for bespoke vehicles was no different. They’re already proving to be a highly successful addition to our fleet.”
