Furniture manufacturer Andrew Paul Furniture has filed a notice to enter liquidation and wind up the business.
The company, which is based on Meadow Lane in Long Eaton, intends to appoint Michael Roome and Jamie Playford, both of Leading, as joint liquidators following the meeting with creditors, which is set to take place on 9 July 2025.
“Notice is hereby given, pursuant to Rule 15.13 of the Insolvency (England and Wales) Rules 2016, that the directors of the above-named Company the is seeking a decision from creditors on the nomination of Joint Liquidators by way of a virtual meeting. A resolution to wind up the Company is to be considered on 9 July 2025,” the statement said.
It is understood that the company has cited ongoing market volatility and falling demand, while its website has been changed with a notice stating “new website under construction”.
The closure will bring an end to 14 years of trading and could impact over 170 jobs.
Detailed in its most recent filed accounts for the year ended 30 April 2023, total sales resulted at £14.2m, a slight decline from £14.3m in the previous period. However, pre-tax losses widened from £146,000 to a loss of £342,000.
