Soft furnishings supplier grows sales but lower than expected

Soft furnishings supplier Rapport Home Furnishings has reported a growth in sales but remained behind pre-pandemic levels.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 April 2022, turnover reached £13.3m, an uptick of £3.7m against an 18-month period when sales stood at £9.5m. Pre-tax profit resulted at £1.2m.

Stated within its report, the company said that revenues were lower than expected when compared to pre-pandemic levels due to the ongoing changes in customer base and the pandemic.

“This has resulted in a gross profit of £3.5m in the period, as margin on sales has reduced due to its change in customers. The company’s administrative expenses have decreased from last year which has resulted in a profit before tax (in relation to turnover) of 8.9%.”
