Bensons for Beds makes return to Watford

Beds and mattresses retailer Bensons for Beds is making a return to Watford with the opening of a new store.

Bensons is moving into Unit 1a on the town’s Colne Valley Retail Park, Watford, Hertfordshire, and will be above the existing Carpetright store. It opens on Friday 28 October with 2,736 square feet of trading space and will employ five colleagues.

It is just a few yards from the previous Bensons’ store which it had shared with Harveys before Bensons became an independent company in 2020 and which closed in March 2022.

It has been designed to showcase the wide range of beds and mattresses on offer from top brands including Slumberland, Staples & Co, iGel, Tempur and Silentnight.

Bensons for Beds chief customer officer, Frankie Haynes, said: “We can’t wait to reopen our doors in Watford where our new store will show the best of what Bensons has to offer to the people in the town and the surrounding area.

“Customers really like our new stores where they can see our full ranges and get all the help they need to make the right choice of bed and mattress so they can get the best night’s sleep possible.”

The store is run by manager Nadeem Yousaf who has been with the company for 19 years and has worked at the Watford, Enfield, Chingford and Colindale stores.

The refit is the latest investment by Bensons under its transformation plan and follows the opening of 20 stores since December.
