Trago Mills – Experienced Senior Buyer – Furniture

We are the South West and South Wales leading Discount Retail and Leisure Group with a head office in Cornwall and four large retail sites in Cornwall, Devon and South Wales.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Buyer for Furniture to join our team based at head office.

Reporting to the Group Managing Director, the successful candidate will be an established professional buyer, with proven relevant experience.

Role & Responsibility:

· Range selection and negotiating contracts

· Sourcing new product worldwide

· Stock, budget and margin management

· Competitor analysis

· Strong negotiation skills to achieve targets

· Strong presentation skills to all levels

· Highly numerate – able to interpret data to determine decision making, work to budget and KPIs

· Team management, and task delegation skills

The Candidate

· Passionate about product

· Thorough understanding of all buying principles and systems

· Understanding of merchant and retail sectors

· Commercial and market awareness

· Understanding of the supply chain and product lifecycle

· Understanding of DHD

· Comprehensive understanding of customer profile, product range, and competitors

· Use of CIMS, QA and Microsoft applications

· Good planning and organisational skills able to adapt in line with business needs

· Strong communication and influencing skills at all levels
