Sofa and carpets retailer ScS has confirmed the opening of two new stores over the Christmas period, taking its portfolio to 100 stores nationwide.

ScS opened two new stores on Boxing Day: one in York at the Clifton Moor Retail Park; and a second in Swindon at the Bridgemead Retail Park.

The intention is for the two new stores to be fully refitted in the spring. They will be developed into ScS’ new ‘Concept’ store format. The York store is also ScS’ first collaboration with Bensons for Beds, with both retailers trading from the unit. The ScS team is excited to be working with the Bensons team.

Dean Weston, Sales & Operations Director at ScS, said: “The ScS Board is genuinely excited to have been able to open two new stores in key target demographic areas of the UK. The partnership with Bensons in York should prove to be of great benefit to both businesses.

“The two new stores are trading very well and we believe we will be able to unlock further potential as we invest in their refitting to our new ‘Concept’ store specification in the Spring. We continue to look for additional, suitable locations throughout the UK to expand our store estate further, whilst also investing in our existing showrooms.”
