Scottish independent retailer grows sales by £15m

Scottish independent furniture retailer Sterling Furniture Group has reported a growth in sales as turnover increased by £15m.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 28 February 2022, total sales rose 38% to £55.4m from £40m in 2021.

Gross profit increased from £18.7m to £25.7m, while pre-tax profit resulted at £4.1m, up from £2.5m recorded in the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said it benefitted from the pent up demand from lockdowns and from the investment in the new format stores, which have performed strongly since reopening.
