Sales dip at upholstery fabric supplier

Wallcoverings and upholstery fabrics supplier Romo Fabrics has reported a slight decline in sales as turnover remained over £60m.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2023, total sales dipped 1.3% to £64.7m from £65.6m in 2022.

UK sales were down 2.2% to £26.3m from £26.9m, while EU sales fell 5.1% to £18.6m from £19.6m. Sales outside the EU increased 3.6% to £19.7m from £19m.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £4.7m, down from £14.6m recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said: “During 2023, the group has continued to make progress in the implementation of its strategy including the successful worldwide launch of new product collections for all brands.

“Sales are lower than 2023, which was predicted, and the directors are mindful of the reduced sales and are continuing to look at ways of reducing costs.”
