Office furniture manufacturer Dams has reported a slight growth in sales as profit jumped to over £6m.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 September 2023, total sales rose 0.1% to £63.3m from £63.2m in 2022.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £6.4m, up 82% from £3.5m recorded the previous year.

UK sales were down 0.4% to £60.6m from £60.9m, while EU sales registered an increase of 19% to £2.5m from £2.1m. Sales outside the EU rose to £157,000 from £105,000.

Stated within its report, Dams said: “Material costs and overheads were tightly managed throughout the year. Savings were achieved on shipping costs during the year as freight stabilised following the spike of the Covid-19 pandemic.”

Furthermore, Dams continued to invest within its infrastructure, including the installation of two new drill centres in its wood factory, further increasing production capacity and enhancing quality.
