Lighting business Pooky has reported a growth in sales as profit remained strong.
According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 May 2024, total sales rose 19.5% to £31.2m from £26.1m in 2023, further adding to its growth of 35.9% from £19.2m in 2022.
Pre-tax profit resulted at £6m, just down from £6.1m recorded in the previous year. This profit was achieved after the set up costs of £1.2m of its US operations.
Stated within its report, Pooky said: “The company opened a second showroom in Redbrick and invested in its infrastructure including after the year end, extending and improving the flagship showroom in Chelsea.
“The key development in the year was the successful launch of the Pooky business in the US with its own website, people and trading entity. Initial reactions from the US customers, both trade and consumers, has been very positive with a strong appreciation of the products and price positioning.”
