Independent furniture retailer Stollers has reported a slight decline in sales and profit.
According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 August 2023, total sales fell 17.7% to £6.5m from £7.9m in 2022.
Pre-tax profit resulted at £819,000, down from £1m recorded in the previous year.
Stated within its report, the company said: “During the year we have seen difficult trading conditions in the market. These have been compounded with increased energy costs.
“To tackle the increase in energy costs we have previously installed solar panels and also changed all the stores lighting to be on low energy systems.”
