Jamie Hobbs, founder of luxury outdoor furniture company Indian Ocean, is stepping down after 33 years as Managing Director.
David Mahony has been appointed Commercial Director and will be managing all commercial and operational aspects of the business.
David has a background in fashion having held senior positions at Moncler, Burberry and Prada and brings strong organisational, leadership and business management skills as well as a passionate belief in team building to drive company performance.
Regarding his successor, Jamie Hobbs said: “David has significant experience in managing and running businesses in the luxury sector and we are fortunate to have recruited him to Indian Ocean”.

The transition will allow more time for Hobbs to focus on furniture design as well as longer term strategy. “I want to do more of what I love, which is creating beautiful, well-designed furniture to help our clients enjoy their time spent relaxing outdoors.”
Indian Ocean has led the way in changing how we use our outdoor space and is now just as recognised for the luxury cutting-edge contemporary pieces as well as for their classic Teak heritage.
Established in 1990 and with two London stores, the company are also celebrating 10 years in Harrods as the leading outdoor furniture brand.
